Where We’ve Been Tells You Where We’re Headed
Hanson Pressure Pipe is a combination of three previous companies whose roots date back to the origins of concrete pressure pipe produced in North America:
- Gifford-Hill-American - In 1998, Hanson completed the purchase of Gifford-Hill-American (GHA), a concrete pressure pipe producer in Texas since 1946.
- Price Brothers Company - In early 2007, Hanson purchased Price Brothers Company (PBC), an Ohio-based company with concrete pressure pipe business origins that can be traced back to 1926.
- Hyprescon Inc. - Later in 2007, Hanson completed the third step in the enlargement of its pressure pipe business with the purchase of Hyprescon, a company headquartered in Quebec, whose start in the concrete pressure pipe business dates to 1931.
Altogether these three components of Hanson Pressure Pipe have produced over 80,000,000 LF (15,000 miles) of concrete pressure pipe for use in most of the United States, all of Canada, and in several other countries.
In 2003, Hanson Pressure Pipe added a new state-of-the-art steel pipe plant in Texas to produce steel pressure pipe to further diversify its commitment to the pressure pipe market.
Today, more than 800 employees at nine plants—located in five states and two Canadian provinces—produce Hanson concrete pressure pipe and fittings.
